Our Construction Services

Our core mission is to satisfy the demand for effective solutions to damp problems in KZN homes and buildings as well as contructing the best possible structures

What We Do

Building Construction

We build brick or block conventional structures. Concrete deck and patio repairs. Additions and renovations, plumbing, paving, roof leak repairs & maintenance.

Flood Damage Repair

Flood damage repair and planning towards damage avoidance for future incidents.

Building Repairs

Brick and block repairs. Damp and leak repairs as well as maintenance contracts.

Damp Master

Rising Damp solutions, Lateral Damp Solutions, Roof leak repairs, Waterproofing

BUILDING INSPECTION AND SURVEYS

Building inspection and surveys using infrared imaging technology, magnetic resonance meters and common sense, backed by 30 years of experience. We have experience as specialist witnesses in court litigation.

DAMP PROOFING

Structural dampness is the presence of unwanted moisture in the structure of a building, either the result of penetrating, lateral or rising damp or from plumbing leaks or rainwater.

Water penetrates structures through surface cracks, deteriorated pointing between bricks, damaged roof structures etc. Rainwater flows off the roof, down walls and enters through deteriorated plaster or badly jointed bricks. Soil or paving should slope away from the building to ensure adequate water run-off.

If there is a high water table, it is necessary to incorporate plastic sheeting under all concrete floors.

Damp proofing is accomplished in several ways including:

Damp Proofing Procedure:

A damp-proof course (DPC) is a barrier throughout the structure to prevent rising damp by capillary action. The damp-proof course can be horizontal or vertical. A DPC layer is usually laid below all masonry walls, regardless if the wall is a load bearing wall or a partition wall.

A damp-proof membrane (DPM) is a membrane material applied to prevent moisture transmission. A common example is polyethylene sheeting laid under a concrete slab to prevent the concrete from gaining moisture through capillary action. A DPM may be used for the DPC.

Integral damp proofing in concrete involves adding materials to the concrete mix to make the concrete itself impermeable.

Surface coating with thin waterproof materials (e.g., acrylic paint) for resistance to non-pressurized moisture such as rainwater or a coating of cement sprayed on such as shotcrete which can resist water under pressure.

Cavity wall construction, such as rainscreen construction, is where the interior walls are separated from the exterior walls by a cavity with a bitu-prime coating on the inner skin .

Pressure grouting cracks and joints in masonry materials.

Materials widely used for damp proofing include:

Flexible materials like butyl rubber, hot bitumen, plastic sheets, bituminous felts, sheets of lead, copper, etc.

Semi-rigid materials like mastic asphalt.

Rigid materials like impervious bricks, stones, slates, cement mortar or cement concrete painted with bitumen, etc.

Stones

Mortar with waterproofing compounds

Coarse sand layers under floors

Continuous plastic sheets under floors

Honey sucker desludging services

Our 14 000lt Honey sucker is both fast and reliable. Suitable for your septic tank requirements

Why is my Septic tank overflowing?

  • The French drain (the septic tank outlet) could be blocked.
  • Chemicals flushed into the tank could have destroyed all the beneficial bacteria.
  • External water could be entering the tank for e.g. a broken pipe or rainwater.
  • Capacity overload, too many toilets connected to the system.
  • Tank caving in (volume decreasing).

Where is the waste disposed of ?

Our trucks dispose the waste at municipal wastewater treatment plants.

How often should I clean the Septic Tank?

Septic tanks should work well if maintained and care is taken that no harmful chemicals or other foreign substances enter the tank. As soon as it takes longer than normal to drain, you should consider sucking out the septic tank. You should try not to leave it until it overflows.
